CALCULATION OF THE DIPOLE FIELD USING THE VLF APPROXIMATION,

Abstract

The radiation field of a horizontal magnetic dipole at a depth h under a flat part of the earth's surface is calculated at short range by the integral method, using the VLF approximation. The field strength in the main direction of radiation is evaluated numerically and compared with the values in the case of an infinite homogenous medium. (Author)
