LATERAL AND VERTICAL FORCES AND MOMENTS ON A RESTRAINED SERIES 60 SHIP MODEL IN OBLIQUE REGULAR WAVES,

Abstract

This report describes measurements of the mean and oscillatory lateral (yaw and sway) and vertical (pitch and heave) moments and forcesexerted by oblique regular waves on a fully restrained Series 60, 0.60 block coefficient model at zero speed. These measurements are compared with some existing theoretical results for head, beam, and quartering waves, and the agreement is quite satisfactory. Some phase results between the wave and the exciting forces and moments are also given. (Author)
