STP III SPECIAL TEST REPORTS, MECHANICAL SYSTEMS.

Abstract

The environmental control system of tge Transporter-Erector, installed under ECP 2, does not provide sufficient heating capacity to allow usage of the T-E at the low ambient temperatures required by the Weapon System. ECP 692 has been initiated to correct this problem but cannot be accomplished in time for the 1963-64 winter. A ''winter work-around'' was proposed to permit operation for the 1963-64 season. Verification of the work-around was required prior to submittal for field usage. The purpose of ST-69 was to verify that the proposed winter workaround for ECP 692 would provide a sufficient increase in heating capacity to allow use of the Transporter-Erector in -35 degrees F. ambient temperature and to verify that the work-around installation can be accomplished in the field without special tools.
