MACHINE PRROGRAM FOR RAPID CALCULATION OF EQUATION OF STATE OF AIR,

Abstract

A simplified model is formulated which accounts for the major features of the equation state of air in the regions where reliable calculations are available. This model furnishes a reasonable way of extending equation of state data to regions where calculations are not available; it also provides a useful numerical routine for using equation of state data in hydrodynamic calculations. The following are some of the thermodynamic properties which are used to describe the state of air: the density (rho), the temperature T, the pressure p, the internal energy E, and the number of particles per cold air molecule N.
