PRELIMINARY VARIANT OF THE PHASE DIAGRAM OF THE BORON-SILICON SYSTEM (POPEREDNIY VARIANT DIAGRAMY SYSTEMY BOR-KREMNIY),

Abstract

The present work describes an investigation of the B-Si system by means of metallographic, x-ray diffraction, and visual thermal analyses. Alloys with a content of components differing by 0.5 to 5 at% were prepared by sintering or melting compacted mixtures in an electricalresistance furnace in an argon atmosphere. The composition of the alloys obtained was determined by chemical analysis. (Author)
