HAZARDS OF ELECTROMAGNETIC RADIATION TO ORDANANCE. THE DEVELOPMENT OF TECHNIQUES TO DETECT AND DETERMINE THE EFFECTS OF HEAT ON SELECTED PRIMARY EXPLOSIVES.

Abstract

This report summarizes the work performed at the Naval Weapons Station on the effects of heat on primary explosives. Comparison of radiated heat from external sources with conducted heat from a bridge wire are presented for colloidal lead azide. included are gas chromotographic results and thermal analysis curves for diazodinitrophenol, colloidal, Dextrinated and polyvinyl lead azides, and normal and basic lead styphnates.
