Abstract

This document comprises a textbook covering the elements of explosive materials. The text is introduced by an historical sketch. Section I is devoted to the theory of explosives and subdivided into chapters concerned with the characteristics, sensitivity, stability, explosive transformation, and combustion of explosives. Sections II through VII are concerned with the major categories of explosives, namely: high explosives, colloid powders, black powder, and pyrotechnics.
