SSB AND VHF CRYSTAL FILTERS. DEVELOPMENT OF VHF SINGLE SIDE BAND CRYSTAL FILTERS IN THE FREQUENCY RANGE OF 2 TO 30MC.

Abstract

Research is presented on the beginning phase of development work toward an optimum design of SSB and VHF crystal filters in the frequency range of 2 to 30MC. The analysis of technical specifications has indicated that the frequency region below 15MC offers the best compromise for SSB filters with nominal bandwidth of 3KC from crystal parameter considerations. Analytical design procedures of designing SSB crystal filters are discussed. Insertion loss functions for both symmetrical lattice and ladder filters are derived for analytical design purposes.
