TRANSITION PROBABILITIES FOR RANDOMLY DISTRIBUTED STANDBY AND CHECKOUT DURATIONS,

Abstract

The concept of the matrix of transition probabilities used in determining the availability of a system subjected to cyclic maintenance is extended to cover those situations wherein the durations of standby and checkout are not constant and are selected independently from known probability distributions. A simple example of a cyclicly replaced system is presented. (Author)
