A STUDY OF LINE INTENSITIES IN THE SPECTRUM OF THETA URSAE MAJORIS

Abstract

Information concerning the properties of a stellar atmosphere can be obtained from a study of the intensities of the absorption lines appearing in the stellar spectrum. A commonly employed method of analyzing absorption line instensities involves the application of idealized curves of growth. Effort is made to describe the use of this approach, called grobanalyse by German workers, in a study of the spectrum of the star Ursae Majoris.
