MOLYBDENUM SHEET ROLLING PROGRAM.

Abstract

This report covers details of work performed under Contract NOas 59-6142-c for the twentysecond reporting period. Release properties for Mo.5Ti and TZM alloy sheet, developed and submitted to the Bureau of Weapons for approval, are presented. When approved, these release properties will be the criteria for final inspection and acceptance of production lots of Phase III sheet. Test results of .020 in. Mo.5Ti sheet are included in this report which show some scatter outside the limits of the release properties, This completes work on this alloy. Details of the melting and extrusion of the additional TZM ingot are discussed. Test certificates containing evaluation data from specimens representing approximately one-third of the total TZM sheets rolled in Phase III are included in this report. These properties meet the requirements of the release properties and reflect the consistent quality of various gages of TZM produced. (Author)
