AN OPERATIONAL CONCEPT FOR EMPLOYMENT OF THE RADIO CENTRAL AN/USC-3 IN ROAD DIVISIONS.

Abstract

This study presents a concept for the employment of the Radio Central, AN/USC-3, in the communication system of the ROAD Division. The present area communication system of the division will be retained in its entirety. The central stations of the AN/USC-3 systems will have direct access to the area system through one of the area signal centers. This will provide the AN/USC-3 users with a very effective radio/wire integration capability. This study proposes the introduction of the radio central system at division main and alternate, support command, division artillery headquartrs, at headquarters of each of the brigades, and at the three forward area signal centers. It is not proposed that the AN/USC-3 be introduced within the maneuver battalions at this time. (Author)
