SMALL AMPLITUDE WAVES AND SCREENING IN DENSE DEGENERATE PLASMA,

Abstract

Considered here is the propagation of electroacoustic waves in a dense degerate plasma, such as may be encountered in the interior of a white dwarf, or in the core of a presupernova star. Considerations are restricted to the density range 10 to the 6th to 10 to the 9th power g/cc; in this range, the average internuclear spacing is 1000 to 10 nuclear radii; all atoms are of course completely ionized.
