PRODUCTION ENGINEERING MEASURE CR-(XM-45)/U QUARTZ CRYSTAL UNITS (RUGGEDIZED, LOW FREQUENCY).
Abstract
The CR-(XM-45)/U are experimental crystal units in the 90-kc to 200-kc frequency range. Investigation established that the only way by which the CR-(XM-45)/U combination of requirements could be met was through lowering the OTR by 10 C to the +60 C to +70 C range; use of the higher OTR made severe sacrifices in both performances and in parameters inevitable. Evaluation of the third group of experimental units--data are presented -- confirmed that satisfactory unit designs could be established throughout the frequency range if the lower OTR were utilized. A Technical Action Request (TAR) was issued, recommending that the +60 C to 70 C OTR be adopted and designs for the fourth (final) group of experimental were prepared. (Author)
