MACHINABILITY OF HEAT-RESISTANT AND TITANIUM ALLOYS (OBRABATYVAYEMOST' REZANIYEM ZHAROPROCHNYKH I TITANOVYKH SPLAVOV),

Abstract

The book is devoted to the basic conditions for improving the machinability of heat-resistant and titanium alloys. The results of research to determine the influence of various factors on the machinability of the alloys are presented: tool geometry, cutting-tip wear, cutting formulas, cooling-and-lubricating fluid, and heat treatment of the metals. Recommendations are given on the selection of efficient formulas for cutting, more effective cooling-and-lubricating fluids, and prior heat treatment to improve the conditions of cutting. The book is intended for engineeringtechnical workers concerned with problems of metalcutting, and may also be used by students in the higher technical educational institutions. (Author)
