PHOSPHONITRILIC POLYMERS STABLE AT HIGH TEMPERATURES.

Abstract

This project was undertaken to develop new thermoplastic and thermosetting resins from phosphonitrilic chloride trimer for high temperature electrical applications. Derivatives of phosphonitrilic chloride trimer containing phenoxy, ethoxy, and chloro groups in various proportions have been found to polymerize to hard, clear resins by the elimination of ethyl chloride and the formation of P-O-P linkages. Further work on monomers for this polymerization is also described. (Author)
