DEVELOPMENT OF AN EXPLODING BRIDGEWIRE FIRING UNIT,

Abstract

A general description of an exploding bridgewire system and a detailed study of a solid state firing unit are presented. This firing unit approaches an optimum between reliability and safety as it contains few components, yet responds only to a coded electrical signal. Illustrations of the decoding circuit, construction details recommended circuit modifications and data obtained from a pre-prototype unit are also given. (Author)
