A GLASS-FILAMENT-WOUND GROMMET FOR THE 155 MM T387E2 (M470) PROJECTILE,

Abstract

A filament-wound polyester grommet to protect the rotating band of the 155 mm T38E2 (M470) projectile has been designed and a process for its fabrication has been established. The grommets were satisfactorily field tested under ambient conditions. They were drop tested at-40 F and +160 F. (Author)
