ON THE THEORY OF LOCALLY ISOTROPIC TURBULENCE,

Abstract

Kolmogorov's modified hypotheses (1962) have been used to discuss three problems of locally isotropic turbulent medium. Expressions for the structure function and the spectrum function of the velocity field have been obtained in the first section. Then the energy dissipation field has been discussed and expressions for the correlation function of the fluctuations of the energy dissipation and its spectrum have been calculated. Finally, the correlation function of the induced current density and the magnetic field fluctuation spectrum for turbulent flow of a weakly conducting fluid have been considered. (Author)
