ON THE MEANING OF SINGULAR TERMS,
Abstract
Contributions made by various logicians to the problem of characterizing the meaning of singular terms are discussed. In particular, the problem of the meaning of names and descriptions is discussed, and the theories of Carnap, Frege, Quine an Russel regarbing the logical manipulation of such terms are analyzed and contrasted.
