STRUCTURAL PLASTICS FOR DEEP SUBMERGENCE VEHICLES.

Abstract

Work efforts in progress on a program to develop tests for and to study failure modes in of compression of fiberglass reinforced thermoset composites are reported. The data will be used in designing and fabricating pressure vessel hulls for deep submergence applications. Increases in the compression and tensile properties of the composite through the addition of alumina filler are reported. (LS-PL).
