INITIAL SPARES PROVISIONING FOR ICBM SYSTEMS

Abstract

The scope of the study encompasses logistic support problems encountered in the acquisition and operational phases of Inter-Continental Ballistic Missile Systems. Organizational and functional responsibilities, from Air Force to Base level, are discussed where a cause and effect relationship to the problem exists. The Titan II and Minuteman programs are the principle subjects of this study with particular emphasis on management practices in provisioning procedure, however, reference is made to the Atlas program in several sections of the thesis.
