FABRICATION CHARACTERISTICS OF 8A1-1MO-1V TITANIUM ALLOY.

Abstract

N INVESTIGATION WAS CONDUCTED TO DETERMINE THE FABRICATION CHARACTERISTICS OF *A1-1Mo-1V titanium alloy. The following tests were conducted: (a) Room temperature mechanical properties of .022-inch sheet and .063-inch sheet; (b) Uniform elongatio properties of .22-in. sheet at 78F, 400F, 800F, 1200F and 1400F; (c) Minimum bend radius of both the .022-in. sheet and the .063-in. sheet; (d) Fusion welding characteristics of .063-in. sheet; (e) Resistance spot welding characteristics of both the .022-in. sheet and the .063 in. sheet; (f) Contour flange forming characteristics of .063-in. sheet; (g) Dimpling characteristics of both the .022-in. sheet and the .063-in. sheet; and (h) Cleaning characteristics.
