MECHANICAL PROPERTIES OF NON-WOVEN MONOFILAMENT UNIDIRECTIONAL AND BIDIRECTIONAL LAMINATES OF PARALLITE CORPORATION.

Abstract

A special formulation glass fiber was developed which can be fabricated into directionally oriented laminates. It is reported that mechanical properties are significantly higher than those obtained with other directionally oriented laminates. Mechanical property tests (tensile and flexure) were conducted on monofilament undirectional and bidirectional laminates in order to obtain basic data on this new material and to compare test results of specimens fabricated by two corporations.
