EVALUATION OF FILLER MATERIALS FOR ENGRAVED ALUMINUM PANELS.
Abstract
This test was conducted to compare (1) the currently used S/W Enamel Silk Screen Color No. 37038 Black with Lacquer Stik (black) and S/W Latex Concentrate (custom tone black) when subjected to various environments such as salt spray, humidity, distilled water JP-4 fuel and MIL-H-5606 hydraulic oil and (2) to determine a satisfactory cleaning solution for removal of excess filler material. Visual examination after test exposure revealed that Lacquer Stik is superior to the other materials tested. A cleaning solution (1:1:1 ratio by volume of Turco 3878, ethyl alcohol and water) is satisfactory for use with the Lacquer Stik. (Author)
