PRODUCTION ENGINEERING MEASURE FOR MANUFACTURE OF METEOROLOGICAL BALLOONS TYPE ML-541 ( )/UM.
Abstract
The head balloon dipping machine is now operating automatically and producing acceptable balloons. Improvements are continuing to be made to provide greater safety and flexibility. Design and installation of the tail balloondipping machine is expected to commence during the next quarter. Various components were fabricated and purchased. Design of the inflating arm is expected to be completed during the next quarter. Design of the conveyorized drying system was initiated. The basic functions of the various components are described. All head balloon dipping forms were completed. The tail balloon dipping forms are in the process of procurement. (Author)
