TACAN AIR-TO-AIR BEARING ANTENNA DEVELOPMENT.

Abstract

Air-to-air bearing antenna development has progressed to the point where meaningful data and photographic recording of antenna modulation patterns have been obtained. Material obtained during the last reporting period is presented in this interim report. Design of the antenna motor drive circuits and heading and reference servo unit was essentially completed. Design of the pulse generator circuit is proceeding. Breadboarding techniques to duplicate modulator and bearing circuit performance information have been used. Hwever, the lack of AN/ARN-52 GFE equipment has nevertheless resulted in some time consuming alternatives to continue progress of the necessary development work. Block diagrams and circuit diagrams for the antenna motor drive, heading and reference servo, and pulse generator circuits are included. (Author)
