DESIGN AND APPLICATIONS OF SLOTTED CYLINDER SPRINGS

Abstract

A slotted cylinder spring offering unique characteristics of high load capacity and low deflection in extremely small size is discussed. Its use as an elastic element of controllable compliance in seismic transducers is demonstrated and its performance is compared with that of conventional springs,; Formulas for these devices are derived and design calculations are given for typical applications.
