AN SPS SUBROUTINE AS A SIMULATION AID,

Abstract

This thesis develops an SPS subroutine for use in conjunction with the IBM 1620 computer. The function of the subroutine is to reduce the amount of programming steps involved in mathematical simulations. Some of the highlights of simulation theory are discussed, including such things as the hazard function, random number generator, and model period. The principles of operacion of the subroutine are explained and illustrations of uses of the subroutine are presented. Detailed operating instructions for using the subroutine are given. Finally, the results of trial simulation problems are shown to demonstrate the practicality of the subroutine. (Author)
