GETOL WATER IMPACT LOADS AND MOTIONS,
Abstract
This report summarizes and briefly discusses the various considerations and uncertainties pertinent to a mathematical model of a 1/20 scale towing tank model of the Convair ASW/GETOL aircraft configuration (Reference 2). The results of a towing tank model test are compared with the results of a general-purpose analog computer simulation of the model operating over waves. The results are similar to those of the companion effort of Reference 1; that is, some progress has been made in understanding the forces acting upon the vehicle. They also illuminate the areas that require more explicitly designed experiments in future wind tunnel and towing tank tests. (Author)
