STUDY AND INVESTIGATION OF MILLIMETER AND SUBMILLIMETER WAVE RECEIVER TECHNIQUES.

Abstract

Research concerns the development of video detection techniques which are appropriate for the millimeter and submillimeter range of the spectrum. Transmission lines and components usable in the submillimeter region will also be investigated. The pyroelectric detector was successfully used to detect radiation at a wavelength of 0.845 mm. A technique for fabricating spheroidal reflectors from metal foil is described. Field distribution measurements for the beam waveguide were made and the results are in satisfactory agreement with the theory. Studies directed toward improvement of the sensitivity of the wallcurrent detector are in progress. (Author)
