OPERATIONAL TEST AND EVALUATION AN/TRC-66,

Abstract

Tests were conducted to determine the suitability of the AN/TRC-66 as a communications subsystem for the semi-automatic air weapon control system 412L. Radio Set AN/TRC-66 is a super-high frequency, line-of-sight, radio relay, and tropospheric-forward-scatter, tactical communications system. It is capable of transmitting multiplex voice, teletype or data channels over beyondhorizon paths. Point-to-point distances are approximately 100 miles, or in relays of ten tandem trunks up to approximately 1000 miles. Test results and recommendations are presented. (Author)
