CREEP-FATIGUE INTERACTING UNDER CYCLIC LOADING CONDITIONS.

Abstract

The limitations imposed by synergistic or interaction phenomena on the validity of linear superposition and summation approaches are discussed. In particular, single-variable data are shown to be generally inadequate for predicting mechanical properties under combined loads and environments. Analytical methods for predicting creep and rupture under variable stress from static creep data are reviewed and compared with experimental results. (Author)
