A COMBINATION TELEMETRY-TRAJECTORY SYSTEM,

Abstract

A review is made of the problem of providing altitude versus time data in conjunction with scientific information from upper air sounding rockets. The development of the airborne equipment is described in some detail, as is a testing program for evaluation of the system. Records are reduced from one of the test flights and the data obtained are compared with radar trajectory data for the same flight. Limitations of the system, both in the electronics and physical system flown, as well as in the methods used in data reduction, are discussed. (Author)
