PORTABLE LASER RANGEFINDER BATTERY SELECTION CRITERIA,

Abstract

This report supplements Test Report T63-6-1, dated 22 January 1963. Certain silver zinc (AgO-Zn) and nickel cadmium (Ni-Cd) cells are experimentally examined for suitability to the battery requirements of Rangefinder XM23 (LASER). Figures are given for expected number of rangings, battery capacity, energy, and specific energy densities as a function of temperature and discharge rate. Battery behavior at temperatures from -40 F to 125 F is examined, and a discussion of charging is included. (Author)
