DEVELOPMENT OF OPTIMUM PROCESSING PARAMETERS FOR REFRACTORY METAL FOIL.

Abstract

Approximately 110 pounds of extensively evaluated high quality 2, 6 and 10-mil D-36 and B-66 columbium base alloy foil was shipped to Project 651G contractors. Additional quantities of Cb-752, SCb-291, and C-129 foil were also produced. Quality specifications for both the starting reroll stock and finished foil were established. Roll processing schedules, associated rolling mill variables, flattening procedures, and cleaning techniques were also studied. Critical strain studies failed to show the existence of this phenomenon in the first three alloys named above. (Author)
