ULTRAVIOLET CAMERA TUBE DEVELOPMENT.

Abstract

The design philosophy, construction, operating principle, and performance evaluation is described of a laboratory-type solar blind sensor employing an SEC pickup tube with a cesium telluride photosurface. Measurement and calibration techniques in the 2000 - 3000 angstrom spectral region are described. From the performance evaluation and the design philosophy, it is concluded that a space-born prototype meeting certain military operational requirements can be built. (Author)
