A STUDY AND EVALUATION OF ANTI-SLOSH MECHANISMS. TASK 4. BLADDER DEVELOPMENT.

Abstract

This report presents the results of a study in which a space vehicle, utilizing large spherical tanks with positive expulsion bladders, was evaluated to determine if any of the common methods of slosh suppression could be adapted to this design to give slosh damping in addition to that already inherent in the design. Slosh damping can be obtained by many methods as discussed. Some of these methods appear adaptable to spherical tankage with bladders. Slosh forces can be reduced by as much as 50% with bladders.
