MOTION OF A PARTICLE IN THE VICINITY OF A TRIANGULAR LIBRATION POINT IN THE EARTH-MOON SYSTEM,

Abstract

This report contains the material which was presented in two lectures at the Space Mathematics Seminar which was held at Cornell University in August 1963. It is a survey and outline of work in progress in the study of motion near the triangular (stable) libration points in the Earth-Moon system. An extensive review of previous work related to this problem, the problem statement, and an outline of the work are given. Outlines and some of the major results of the work required to develope the distrubing function, eliminate the short and long period terms, solve the libration equation are presented. Principle results are reported. (Author)
