SCIENTIFIC INSTITUTES AND LABORATORIES IN MOSCOW.

Abstract

The high degree of concentration of scientific research in Moscow and its immediate vicinity, as well as the ever changing orgainzational structure of the Soviet scientific effort, have prompted the compilers of 'Scientific Research Institutes of the USSR' to publish this separate volume, 'Scientific Institutes and Laboratories in Moscow'. This new publication, containing 594 entries (510 institutes and 84 laboratories), includes some institutes primarily devoted to scientific and technical education but engaged in extensive scientific research activities. Names of institutes are given as found in Soviet sources, published for the most part in 1962 and, in a few cases, 1963. (Author)
