PRODUCTION ENGINEERING MEASURE PBSE INFRARED DETECTORS - TYPE IR-200.

Abstract

This Production Engineering Measure was undertaken to establish a production source for lead selenide IR detectors to meet estimated military needs for a period of two years after completion of the contract and to establish a base and plans which may be used to meet expanded requirements. During this quarter manufacturing procedures were completed and revised. A new flow chart was prepared to reflect processing revisions. A quality control manual and procedures were prepared and will be available for an informal evaluation on the preproduction run. In-process inspection procedures were updated. Design and fabrication of special tooling were completed. Fabrication of special test equipment is progressing satisfactorily. The second three engineering samples were delivered. Revisions were made to the detector packaging operations to ensure a more reliable glass dewar. Engineering drawings were revised to accommodate processing changes. (Author)
