THERMOELECTRIC POWER MODULES.

Abstract

During this period Si-Ge thermoelectric power module tests were continued under continuous operation and thermal cycling conditions. The modules were tested with leaded gasoline, propane gas, and a mixture of manufactured and natural gas heat sources. Modules were also evaluated under mechanical shock of approximately 35 g, and under vibration conditions of 8 g. Two thermoelectric power modules completed 4200 hours, and two other modules completed 2500 hours of continuous unattended operation with no deterioration in electrical power output. One module has completed 1950 hours of operation on-time and 195 cycles on a thermal cycling test with a gasoline fired heat source. (Author)
