INVESTIGATION OF ELECTRICAL INSULATING PRESSURE SENSITIVE TAPE FOR USE AT LOW TEMPERATURES,

Abstract

The performance of low temperature type electrical insulation tapes as compared with current products meeting specification MIL-I-7798A was investigated. Results of the investigation indicate that the low temperature products are superior for the intended use. These tapes not only have the advantage of low temperature application, but are also usable in the same high temperature range as the current approved products. The investigation also indicate the desirability of eliminating requirements and methods considered unnecessary to obtain a satisfactory product, and the establishment of new requirements and test methods more indicative of actual use.
