STUDY OF ROCKET ENGINE EXHAUST PRODUCTS.
Abstract
Heat and entropy of sublimation of MgF2 were determined over the temperature range 1273 - 1513 K from a study of the vapor pressure of MgF2(s). Based on the experimental data combined with available thermal functions the second law value for heat of sublimation was found to be 83.21 plus or minus 1.03 kcal/mole. The corresponding third law value obtained was 83.95 plus or minus 0.65 kcal/mole. The experimental entropy of sublimation was found to be 41.78 plus or minus 0.75 cal/deg/mole. Preliminary information on the nature of the BeO(s) - H2O(g) reaction in the temperature range 1538 - 1738 K and at 10 to the -4th power atm pressure was obtained. (Author)
