SOME MICROWAVE-FREQUENCY EXPERIMENTS WITH AN ELECTRON-BEAM-INDUCED PLASMA,

Abstract

The microwave-frequency aspects of a system composed of an electron-beam-induced plasma are studied and the various phenomena associated with the system are described. Three classes of oscillations, together with propagation in the forward- and backward-wave modes of the plasma, were investigated. The limitations of the experimental apparatus are discussed and the corresponding improvements are suggested for future experiments. (Author)
