COUNTERINSURGENCY BIBLIOGRAPHY SUPPLEMENT NO. 1,
Abstract
In January 1963, the Special Operations Research Office published A Counterinsurgency Bibliography which covered the English language unclassified literature on counterinsurgency up to the middle of 1962. This report updates the coverage provided by the publication, presenting abstracts of selected literature items published to August 1963. This is the first of a series of SORO 'Abstracts' reports to be published periodically as a guide to relatively current literature in the counterinsurgency field. Other reports in the series will cover topics of unconventional warfare and psychological operations. The abstracts are numbered consecutively. Of 278 articles reviewed, 91 abstracts were selected for this report. They are grouped according to the subject matter outline and categories shown in the Table of Contents. Next to each category are printed the entry numbers for those abstracts grouped under that heading, followed by the entry numbers of abstracts found elsewhere in the report, but containing information relevant to that category. Following the abstracts, there is an Author-Title Index of all entries in this issue. (Author)
