ANALYTICAL SOLUTION FOR CONSTANT ENTHALPY MHD ACCELERATOR,

Abstract

A closed form solution is obtained for a constant enthalpy, crossed field accelerator. The onedimensional inviscid equations of motion are integrated, assuming that the axial variation of electrical energy addition and the area variation are specified. The accelerator is assumed to be segmented, and ion slip effects are ig nored. The solution is useful for a parametric study of a hypervelocity wind tunnel which employs an MHD accelerator. (Author)
