ANALYSIS AND DESIGN OF A SIMPLIFIED INTERTIAL PLATFORM ALIGNMENT LOOP,

Abstract

The tachometer output singnal is proportional to the pendulum output, in the present stabilized platform alignment amplifier for the PERSHING guidance and control system. Using the pendulum signals for a proportional signal in place of the tachometer reduces the null requirement of the alignment loop caused by the threshold of the motor-tachometer. A theoretical analysis of the present alignment loops and their effect on the platform servo loops is presented. A new and much simpler technique for mechanizing the alignment loops is proposed, and the feasibility of the technique is verified analytically. (Author)
