Optimum Tolerance Design Presentation at the Conference of Army Mathematicians (9th) at Watervliet Arsenal,

Abstract

A methodology is developed for the solution of the tolerance design problem for complex systems. The tolerance design problem is formulated as a nonlinear programming problem by introducing a natural objective function and the system performance criteria which serve as constraints. A procedure is presented for the solution of the nonlinear programming problem and an example is given. (Author)
