AN INVESTIGATION OF MATERIAL PARAMETERS INFLUENCING CREEP AND FATIGUE LIFE IN FILAMENT WOUND LAMINATES.

Abstract

Progress is reported in 14 different areas which include: Phase I - flat laminate construction and specimen identification, flat laminate den sity, glass content and moisture pickup, uniaxial compression studies, compressive modulus of elasticity and Poisson's Ratio, uniaxial fatigue studies, stress rupture studies, horizontal shear strength; Phase II - end support conditions for hollow cylindrical test specimens subjected to an external hydrostatic pressure, specimen charac terization, biaxial fatigue experiments, biaxial creep (stress-rupture experiments); and Phase III - specimen preparation, light microscope ob servations, and electron microscope observations.
